I was given some bullhorn handlebars to replace my stokers current flat bars. Unfortunately the flat bars and stoker stem diameter is 25.4 and the bullhorns are 26. Looking at my old Specialized adjustable stoker stem it appears to be a standard 1" quill stem going into the shaft that mounts onto the seat. Can I replace the quill with a standard 1" quill stem with a 26 handlebar gap or would it be something tandem specific and different?

Thanks for your time,
T

A 1" quill stem should work fine, or you could use a threadless stem adapter and then pick a threadless stem for the rise that you need.
