Anyone know the difference between the different chamois in the different PI shorts?

I've decided to try some bib shorts. I'm leaning towards Pearl Izumis. I see some PI 3D race bibs on Ebay for $58.87 plus shipping. I'm willing to pay the extra for the Ultrasensors if they're that much better.

In PI's website they show the tour chamois in the Quest bibs, race chamois in the Attack bibs, the elite chamois in the Ultrasensor Bibs. No one in town has all of them to try on. I don't know the difference. Anyone out there help?

Thanks

I can't speak for the bibs but for the shorts, I really haven't noticed a lot of difference in chamois between the models. The fit and quality of the shorts is another thing. The Quest shorts are too long for me, the Attack length is ok, but the Slice(Ultrasensor) fit is excellent. I've found the Ultrasensor shorts on Ebay for less including shipping, than the LBS has the Attack ones for.

I am 6 ft 168 pounds and wear a medium in the PI Pro. I tried on a Slice (the next line down from the Pro) but have to wear a large, which I thought was too big.

The Pro has material that is supposed to be more aero and there are more panels of material which in general make for a better fit and comfort when you wear them for extended periods of time.

The Pro chamois is the thinest and most dense. I prefer the thinner denser chamois.

I buy the Pro version for the above reasons. Is it worth the money. For me, they fit and I can ride for 70 miles without a butt problem. So, the answer is yes.:)

Don't know about the bibs, however, I have a pair of Quest shorts that sit in the back of my drawer. I never wear them as the chamois makes me feel as if I'm wearing a diaper. I'm not there yet!

I tried on some Ultrasensors, Descentes and two different Nikes at a lbs. Had pretty much decided to go with the Ultrasensors. Best price I could come up with was $108. at the shop with a local bike club discount. I could get them slightly cheaper online but the shipping would have made it a wash.

Then I came across some PI Quest bibs on 6mp.com for $40.82. I ordered them and will give them a try. Then I'll decide to go with the Ultrasensors. I need more than one anyway.

The employee at he lbs recommended the Descentes and said many of his customers like the Ultrasensors. He also had some special purchase Nike race bibs that he highly recommended at $69. but they had a funky looking band at the bottom of the leg. He was upfront in not recommending the $39. Nikes.

Thanks for the input.
