Let it snow!

Well, we finally got snow today :) A whopping 5 cm :D
As usual lots of motoring primates ( ;) ) refused to adapt their driving behaviour to the conditions and ended up in the ditch (I saw about 10 or so in about an hour). Of course, I got caught totally off guard by it and had to bike home a short ways with slick tires but I didn't fall on my ***** :D Anyone else have a perverse liking for winter? Anyone?

I have a perverse liking for winter, but then, I have a perverse liking for temperatures in the low 20s (celcius)! :p

There are many aspects of winter to enjoy.

Couple of days ago was one of those clear sharp frost covered winter days , when everything seemed so still and calm.
A low sun cast purple shadows over the distant hills, only winter can add this perspective to the countryside.

I stayed out and rode much further than i had planned , as i was reveling in the conditions so much.
After the initial shock of the coldness on first setting out , i was soon feeling toasty warm with my exertions.

Yes winter riding can have its compensations, returning home I felt on cloud nine after the ride.

I just wish today was similar weather to do it all over again .

I like riding in the winter because many of the drivers are "cocooning" at home rather than bombing around like they do summer evenings. The roads are quieter.
