There are a lot of white bikes in the Tour this year, and a lot of white saddles and even a lot of white bar tape. Maybe this would be the year to bring back white belts to 50+.

White bucks with white belts. And maybe lime green leisure suits.

No white shoes for me but I would like to have a nice pair of those two toned loafers or wingtips or even saddle shoes they wore in the 50's preferable white and black

The whole notion is an offense to wisdom and reason.

+1. And so does Cleveland, but it started rocking after I left. I wonder if there's a direct connection there? :(

Same here I left Ohio in 1978 when things were about as bad as they are today. I think it may be even worse now there is not much hope of any kind of major manufacturing ever coming back.

What...you didn't hear about the "THANK GOD HE'S GONE" billboards that went up all over town?

All kidding aside, Cleveland has made some major improvements since the 70's. But, yes, the manufacturing jobs are mostly gone. I live about 10 miles west of Akron, and on a smaller scale Akron has taken the same direction as Cleveland.

Louis,

I'm going to be in Canton for 4 days, from Friday afternoon until Tuesday morning. But will be with family, first time in a year that I'll see my daughter who lives in Canton. May not have any free time.

I'll be leaving for XOBA Saturday morning early. My free time Friday will obviously be slim to none. It would be a pleasure to meet you in person if we could work it out sometime.

You're going on the week-long tour?

This would be the bike race in Europe that I promised not to watch but was drawn to like a moth to a flame.

Yesterday I was watching riders go downhill at 100km/hr. Thats when I realized the origin of the red shorts picture. At the end of each days ride, the soignier must take away the bicycle and replace it with a wheelbarrow.

Yup, along with a curly haired Ohio girl who has a new bike, and a lad from Virginia who sleeps in his car with House Boy. Both are 50+ members. :innocent:

I'll probably leave the new bike at home and bring the same one I rode last year after looking at the ride profile for the first day:notamused: The ride around Cincinnati could be rather hilly.

I started packing last night:thumb:

Good luck to both of you on the tour. Sounds like fun.

Won't have any opportunity to visit on Friday, Louis. That's the day I'm driving 550 miles to get there and plan to be going out to dinner with the family after arriving, if I'm not too tired.

I'll do my part to help break your addiction. I haven't watched a second of it. Would rather watch baseball.

Not riding on roads or having a road bike or having a racing mentality, I don't identify at all with those guys.
