Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am looking at either a 2006 Specialized Transition Comp Tri bike, and the 2007 Giant Trinity A1. The Specialized is $950 and the Giant is $1100. I'm torn between the the two. I'm very interested in some opinions as I'm fairly new to Tri bikes. Both have stocked components.
Read the sticky on the forums concerning "Which bike should I buy?" It will answer all of your questions.
Both are georgeous bikes and the price difference is negligible (sp?). I think it comes down to which one feels the best on a test drive. The key factor is going to be how it fits you and how you feel up on it. I don't suggest buying one without first test driving it.
I like the fact they both come with Shimano instead of Campy. My latest TRI bike has Campy and I'm not a fan of it. They both appear to be tremendous bargains as well. Make sure they are not banged up.

Thanks John. I test rode the Specialized yesterday...it was good. Unfortunately, I probably won't be able to test ride the Giant b/c it's off ebay and no bike store here in Dallas carries Giant for me to go test (hard to believe). So the Griant would definitely be a risk. Was just wondering if anyone had an overall opinion of one being better than the other. I think the Giant has better wheels (Xero Lite XGR-1) than the Specialized (Mavic Aksium).
