I am looking for a nice, safe, good climb from the pch over to something like ventura road or something to be able to take back to hollywood area, or to burbank where i can ride around through griffith park.

I saw that there is deckers canyon or something, and a lot of other ones, but i am getting tired of climbing to the observatory every ride and want something a little more challenging/long. thanks.

you can also ride little tujunga, big tujunga and angeles crest.

ventura road? did you mean ventura blvd?
latigo is a good one as urbanknight has mentioned. there's lots of riding out there around mulholland hwy. you might want to work your way up to that. closer to home you can ride mulholland drive from hollywood accross to sepulveda. there's some good climbs with little traffic in there if you know where to look, nichols canyon, sunset plaza, franklin canyon near coldwater and some others on the valley side.
