Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Clydesdale poster "bautieri", after much persuasion, a few months ago finally got his girlfriend to say "yes" to his marriage proposal. The knot was tied yesterday, I understand, and the happy couple is on their honeymoon.

A toast to Ben and his wife. Long life and health to both of you!

That doesn't sound too good. You shouldn't have to persuade your GF to marry you.

Good luck to you two lovebirds:love:

Marriage isn't to be entered into lightly. The kids did right by having a long courtship.

I recall Ben saying the resort the happy couple is staying at has mountain biking available. We'll find out when he returns. Meanwhile, keep the congratulations coming, folks. Ben doesn't know of this thread's existence, so this is a forum 'surprise party.'

Why thank you Neil, what a pleasant surprise to find all these well wishes! I almost missed the email notification of a private message buried under more than a weeks worth of backed up emails.

To calm any questions there was no persuasion involved. Simply asked and got the answer I was hoping for. No pictures as of this time, I'll post one when available.

Just one question, does she have a bike yet?

Were thinking something from the FX series would suit her well, but no bike as of this time. Mine is too big for her and I don't think she would like the clipless pedals at this time.

No one picked up on, or at least commented on, my Shakespeare reference in the thread title. From Act One of Much Ado About Nothing:

*********
DON PEDRO
Well, as time shall try: 'In time the savage bull
doth bear the yoke.'

BENEDICK
The savage bull may; but if ever the sensible
Benedick bear it, pluck off the bull's horns and set
them in my forehead: and let me be vilely painted,
and in such great letters as they write 'Here is
good horse to hire,' let them signify under my sign
'Here you may see Benedick the married man.'
***********

Of course, Benedick, like Ben, is married at the end of the play.
