Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

How come I never hear anything about eastern long island here? Are there no riders from out here? I'm looking for anybody from one to a group of riders who wouldn't mind another to join their ranks. I had a friend who rode for alittle bit, but I quickly surpassed him in every aspect. And riding alone is getting alittle old, theres no one to challenge you and make you work harder. So if there is anyone who wouldn't mind joining up and riding whenever, wherever, let me know

I might do an overnighter (hotel), but I don't go out that far because i'd get killed in gas.

Im not sure where you're located but I did the Gold Coast Ride on the island today.
There seems to be no shortage of bike clubs out there.
I saw lots of them represented on the ride.
I think there's a lot of riders around, but can't speak for the roadie crowd. I myself cycle to commute and for some light touring, so while it would be fun to meet, talk about local roads, routes etc., I doubt I could hold my own with you in a group ride.

I ride a lot out east on the south fork and MTB all over the island.
I don't think you hear much about the east end because there are not too many people who live out here compared to the rest of the island and the city

I've done Bethpage, where else do you ride on the island?
You mean MTB?
East Setauket, Montauk, Sag Harbor, Rocky Point, Glacier Ridge, Shoreham

Try this site (http://visionmtb.com) too. Different vibe, but worthwhile.
