I recently came upon two vintage bikes. I would like to keep one as a roadie and maybe convert one to a cyclox style bike to bring to school as a do - all bike, if possible. The choices are between a 1982 Fuji Team and a 1987 Bianchi Strada. Is one of these framesets particularly suited to cyclocross style riding? I believe the Fuji is lighter but the Strada is stiffer. The Fuji has Shimano ARX Components mostly and the Bianchi has a full Shimano Tourney Group. Both have Dia comp U brakes, but I would shift to Discs if i can get some cheap or cantis. Both are rust free and in good working order. I might consider making the Bianchi a singlespeed if I use that one due to its derailleurs.
