We are a group of friends planning a few days of cycling in Prince Edward County. We are staying at Issah Tubbs and are hoping to find two routes approximately 70K and 40K from the lodge.
Also if anyone has some suggestions for a good place to have lunch it would be very helpful. Basically, we want to create a fast route and a slower route, and if possible meet for lunch at the same place.
Any advise will be appreciated since it is our first time there. Thanks

For the best information that you are seeking, contact the Bloomfield Bicycle Company in Bloomfield, which is about 10 km from Tubbs. The owners, Katie and Rick, ride in this area and know it well. Sorry, I can't find their website but I know they have one. You will have no trouble finding good routes. (We have just stayed at Tubbs a month ago with 61 members of our cycling club. Prince Edward County can be windy at times, but it is still cyclists heaven!)

Thank you very much for your responses.We would very much like to crreate our own itinerary. Our group is made up of some very experienced [fast] cyclists that are not interested in visiting vineyards along the ride. Our thought was to ride in the morning and sight see in the afternoon. Our wives are anxious to shop, taste wine,and have long lunches. We hope to join them when finished.
Any more suggestions in regard routes will be thankfully received. However,all advise on shopping will fall on deaf ears.[kidding]

A map that I use is the Mideastern Ontario Recreation Map. It has several routes on it that might be of interest. You can buy it online at http://www.fedpubs.com/mpchrt/maps/rec_trails.htm
or it may be available at one of the local bike shops around Picton.

We are headed there with our tandem next month - a great place to ride. The leisurely ride could take in the route to Prince Edward Point at the south east corner of the island- there's a lighthouse and a limestone beach for swimming at the end of the point, though last time the road got rougher towards the end. Take lots of water and refreshments - there are no stores out there!
