Fly Bikes Brake

I am wondering what is so different from Fly Bikes with the Chainstay or Seatstay brakes. Do they really make a difference if you use the seatstay one for chainstays or vise-versa? My real question though is, that to the people that have the seatstay version, are the "flybikes" logo on the side upsidedown or the right way? If you don't get what I just said, please ask me to reise.

The chainstay brakes are angled for a straighter cable line, but the seatstay brakes aren't.

but seatstay mounts are meant for those of you out there who want to run a small gearing like 25/9, and still want to have brakes.

Do you actually know what you're talking about? The chainstay brakes work fine with 25-9 on most frames made in the past few years.

Yeah, I know a kid who has chainstay Fly brakes with a 25/9 gear.

Thx for the replys but for the seatstay, are the words on the side upsidedown? Not a big deal but I would like to know.

ok so some newer frames are made with shorter mounts to accomidate brakes, but thats the original reason that mounts were put on the seatstay. because the didnt make short mounts a while back. seatstay just keeps it all out of the way. like if your chain comes loose or whatever, then its not riding on the brakes.

That's funny, because I ran 25-9 on a Stricker with Fly brakes and normal chainstay mounts about, oh, four years ago. And after that, I did the exact same thing on a LAF and a Psykopath, also without shortened mounts.

fine. i dont really care. i dont run brakes anyway. im with fit...wayyyyyyy easier.

They look cleaner, but other than that, I'm always going to run brakes.

i went brakeless cause my brakes kept goin funny and it was way too much work. plus the part of the are that holds the end of the cable just broke right off.

What frame are you riding now?

Nothing. I cracked the Psykopath right before I left for a six-week hiking/geology trip (which I got back from on Friday), and now I just picked up Nick Dawg's Solid AA (custom, with a Spanish BB and Fly brakes on the chainstays...) to ride for the week, since he'll be racing in Nashville. I'll probably be taking one of Joey Cobb's old, brakemountless Volume frames off him later in the week.
