I think it sucks how the Aussie media talk up Cadel Evans

Well in 2005 and 2006 Cadel finishes in the top ten (8th and 4th I think) I will watch the news nothing about Cadel at all even on channels just for sport there is barely anything

Then in 2007 nothing right until he is in second place with a couple of days to go

But this year he is the medias darling and there is something in the paper everyday (which is good)
but the bad thing is barely any of them know a thing about cycling but yet they talk like they have been tracking his carrer since he was a mountain biker

And also he is the only one who gets any attention no-one else is mentioned


I like Cadel and I hope he wins the tour but the media are just pi**ing me off over this

You like the fact he gets attention but don't like the fabricated broader knowledge. Perhaps a cycling columnist is needed?.

And this is different than any other year how? He is just this years flavor

Bike racing is not a big sport here and only winners make good copy. For chrissakes, Nathan Buckley was being asked about the Tour on breakfast TV today.


Find me a sub-editor at an Aussie paper who knows who Heinrich Haussler is.
