Here's a look at the Bikes of the Tour

I noticed it seemed like a lot of the bikes in the Tour have white handlebar tape. From these photos I count 12 of 17 are white. Is there a reason? Is it simply that white is a common trim color in many color schemes?

Riders like white and it looks great when new.
