Mountain Biking - bike assembly

I'm probably going to buy a Jamis Komodo frame to replace my Specialized Hard Rock. I want to just put all of my components on the new frame, but I have never assembled (or dessembled) a bike before. Does anyone have any good tips on how to do this or should I just save myself the frustration and pay to have it done? I would rather save any amount of money that I could. Could I possibly do some of the assembly myself at least? Any help would be appreciated...

some parts of the bike are easily assembled. All you need are basic tools like hex keys, rubber mallet, wrenches, screwdrivers. Having the headset and bb removed require special tools. You should let your bike store take care of that. Other then that, most parts of the bike should be very easy to assemble.

cool thanks for the help. like i said, im buying a jamis frame to replace the hard rock, but i want to basically move all of the parts onto the jamis. would that be a problem seeing as some of the parts are specialized parts? i know that i may have to get a different sized front derailleur (but the allevio on the hard rock sucked anyway), but what about stuff like the stem and bottom bracket? should that all transfer over smoothly?

most things are trasferable. You may have to get a new bottom bracket, front derilleur and seatpost if they are different sizes.
