Just found this forum and decided to join, as I will be needing a lot of help. I had a very nice old Schwinn mountain bike that I prepped for commuting-slicks, fenders, rack, cheapie computer... I would sometimes put a trailer on it for my kid to get around town. Well, that bike got stolen out of my garage and then I was given a very nice Balance mountain bike. Looked pretty hard core as I never dealt with shock forks, racing seat and very aggressive stance. The frame may be a tad small for me, but I have been dealing with it. I replaced the heavy treaded tires with slicks, replaced pedal cages and straps, and some other odds and ends. I hope to replace the front fork as well as it bottoms out on me as soon as I get on it. Yeah, I could loose a good 30 lbs. Anyway, I used to ride quite a bit in my younger days on that Schwinn and also a Trek 1200. Years have passed on, not much on the bike. Hope to get back in the saddle and be consisitent to bring back my manly figure.

Great forum,

X

Yo, hey, I am in Portland as well. I missed the 2 days of dry clear roads - bummer. Hopefully the weather will be nice for the coming week!

If by 'nice' you mean 'rain-free'...come now, it's January in Portland! :p Saturday was dry and I had a nice spin around the neighborhood. Even took pictures. Can't wait to get over this confounded bug and get back to riding!

Went for a 50 mile ride Saturday! At least I got one good day outside (beats the trainer)
