So after the Lafayette crit I rode to Berkeley and hanged out there for a few hours. In the process of walking around I "found" Yogurt Park. What a delicious yogurt! Very creamy, and no chemical after taste like with some others (Wow Cow brand comes to mind). I think it's better then Yumi Yogurt in Santa Clara, and they don't lie about their calories (which I heard Yumi does). Only sad thing is that I didn't find it while I was at CAL. I really should have taken time to explore the town more instead of being stuck in the dungeon of Soda Hall. :(

So how's the southbay treating ya? Are you at the big Adobe building downtown? Places you should try:

Original Pancake House off of De Anza Blvd. (don't go to the one on Almaden-dismal service)
Falafel Drive in.
Amato's on Saratoga.

There are more good places to eat but my palette was not quite that sophisticated when I still lived in San Jo. Of course there's San Francisco and the the East Bay. If you find yourself in the North Bay, I like:

Arrivederci
Sushi Ko
I also hear Dip Sea Cafe is a must

Pretty good. It's great to be able to actually walk places. :D Although no good Frozen Yogurt place here. :( Yep, in the Three Towers. lol.

My wife blames her Freshman Fifteen on "Y.P." (And that was in '83--that place is an institution!)

For me it was la burrita (on the north side) burritos, and spicy chicken with rice combo for 5 bucks from that Korean place. :D
Anyway speaking of frozen yogurt. I stopped by Willow Glen Frozen Yogurt Company in San Jose, mmm very delicious frozen yogurt. Cheaper then other places in the area, better quality, and much bigger portions. Their small is 8oz cup and they stack the yogurt high!

Not enough good frozen yogurt places! I hit Yumi's on El Camino Real just past the Hillsdale Shopping Center maybe once a week. Used to live in West L.A. and the Big Chill near Westwood was "the spot." Great frozen yogurt and people watching - Saturday night at 10:30 the line would be out the door. I miss the Big Chill.

I like Yumi also, but I hear they are not honest about how many calories are in their yogurt. :notamused: In SoCal Golden Spoon was my addiction. It is right off campus, so I stop by their almost every day on the way home.

I work 2 something miles from Willow Glenn frozen yogurt, so I think I will be swinging by it for lunch on days I commute by bicycle. :D

I think we always consume more calories eating frozen yogurt than we would like to think. :( I also like Golden Spoon - used to frequent in our jaunts to Orange County. Hermes and I were on a cycling vacation on our tandem in Capistrano Beach in early May. On my birthday (May 7), my request was to stop at Golden Spoon for birthday frozen yogurt on our bike ride through Newport each - here we are at the Golden Spoon on the UC Irvine campus (in the shopping center on Campus Road). We celebrated with Sevenrider and his sweet stoker.
