My bike i found does NOT have V-Brake levers, which is just great.

I remember seeing brake boosters, not siffeners, they went in place of the brake noodle and maximized the cable pull, so you could use any brake lever with v-brakes. The problem is I dont know what the real name is for these things. And i cant seem to find them anywhere online.

If you know what im talkign about, would it be worth it for me to buy them, or jsut find a good set of v-brake levered brakes. I hate that my levers and shifters are all one piece. :(

I've seen a similar device. called the travel agent, that does the same thing. Seems like a bargain compared to the price of new brifters.

integrated shifters and levers make me sad in my pants. :(

The part you show is called a travel agent. While it does allow use of brake levers with less cable pull, the results can be disappointing. I have them on my touring bike, but the levers must be pulled nearly all the way back to the bar in order to get sufficient braking power with V-Brakes.

You can try them. They aren't too expensive, less than new levers and shifters, anyway.

They are all one pice and arent v-brake levers, just to clear that up, I thinkill ust look for new shifters and all that, which really sucks, becuase I liek my shifters, but I could probably get better ones.

 @ one piece

I actually thought it was a hacker being a smart aleck on your s/n, raiyn :D

summitlt, you might want to look at ebay for things like shifters. you can get pretty good prices there on shifters. I wouldn't pay much more then 20 bucks for a pair of used (7-speed?) shifters though.

We use these boosters, travellators, travel agents ... call them what you want on Tandems that use V-brakes with STi shifters. They really work great and allows you to set a decent gap between your brake blocks and rims. There is also a travellator available that works on a leverage principle and not a pulley.

You could find a decent set of used cantilevers to replace the V-Brakes. I bought a set of used LX canti's on Ebay for about $20 including shipping.
