The local paper had a story Sunday about the mini-triathlon I was planning to do next week, and a bit about my team's role in inspiring the organizers to arrange a separate tri for cancer survivors. Here it is. (http://www.floridatoday.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2008807130314)

I suppose I should call the reporter and tell her I'm laid up in bed, buzzed on Percocet, with my knee screwed up from trying to run. Almost 7000 miles on the bike since finishing chemo two years ago, with not a single injury of consequence - two miles of running to start training for this thing and I'm a wreck, with, I bet, knee surgery coming up. I really hate running.

Great story. :thumb:

Too bad about the knee. :(

:wtf:

The only bike stories in the paper around here are those about people getting hit by cars.

It is a very nice story.

So you just had to try some running, eh? After all of that cycling, one wouldn't expect a 2 mile warm-up run to be that damaging. That is a real shame. I feel for you.

Hang in there, keep the faith.

I enjoy reading this type of story:thumb:

It's a shame about the knee. Hope it doesn't require surgery. Is bike riding still possible or has the knee stopped it, too?
