Does anyone have experience with the Thorn line of touring cycles? I live in the US, so I would have to have it shipped and it would be a blind purchase of sorts. What is the level of workmanship and how is the customer service? Any comments would be appreciated.

I just got a brand new thorn Nomad. Its very comfortable, rides well, and the workmanship looks high quality, but i haven't had a chance to tour on it yet. A guy there named Grant was very helpful and prompt in answering all my email questions.
If you order one, i recommend you try out a similar bike that has the exact same measurements so you know it'll fit right. I'd hate to have to ship a bike all the way back to England.
You'll have to cut off the excess length for the front fork, which is not a big deal at the bike shop. They do that to help guarantee a good fit.

Good luck.

Ive seen a number of Thorns. The Noman/EXP grade are good quality bikes, and very well designed. They are probably comparable with Bruce Gorden BLT. I met one guy on an EXP who had done extensive tours of Africa and S America, and the bike held up very well.
