If the only bike in my garage was a Pista, and I had $900 to spend, my next bike would be a ...

1. SS MTB, like the Bianchi S.A.S.S. or Cannondale SS
2. Cross bike
3. Classic Cafe Racer, something similar to the Bianchi Auto-Milan
4. Another track bike, of course!!

just curious..

If i had money to spend, I'd probably convert my winter training fixie into a proper brakeless track bike by getting a de bernardi frame or with more moolah a cinelli.

If I had even more money, I'd build up a TT bike rather than converting my road bike all the time, maybe get a cervelo or one of the new HED frames, oh and some sweet aero wheels.

If I had even more money, I'd build up a slightly knackered SS MTB

It's fun to dream....

When you say Pista, do you mean a Biachi or the style?

I'd start with a nice lugged steel track frame for my fixie, maybe some new wheels too, and spend the rest on upgrading my riad bike to Mirage or Veloce.

How about a classic cafe racer like an RD400, you can get one for much less than $900(This one is not mine as it is in a perpetual state of unfinished and I am ashamed)

I'd go with a nice De Bernardi. Skitbra has one...so nice. The you'll have a bit of $$$ left for goodies

I agree with this moron. I like my ride, quite a bit. However, mixing it up might be nice, too. Why not a Cross? Maybe even a SS cross? ...Though I don't know if people do that much or at all... But what do I know. 165, shut up! Don't even think of responding with some smug comment. :fight:

Wow...hostilities from an actual, FDA approved, "165" comment. So be it. Guess I'll have to buy that Soma frame Upgrade just got in

What did I say about the smug comments?

If it was the one I ordered, it would be too big for you, anyways...

Bianchi seems to have gone crazy with the silver/chrome this year. I think I liked the SISS better. (Seems to be the same bike, not sure why they changed it to SASS??) On a side note, does anyone know what makes that bike $850? Is that a decent price? Seems like there are other mountain bikes that are cheaper and come with suspension forks and gears and whatnot. I imagine those are crappy quality components, but other than the disc brakes what makes the SISS/SASS better?

My next bike would be a new fixie built on an Airborne titanium frame with Nimble or Corima wheels. Well, either that or a Nicolai Nucleon FR.

But since I'll always have nothing to spend on anything, I'll take anything with wheels that rolls...

my next bike is half-way built already. i need a few more parts for it but i want to bring my tab down at the shop a little before i order anything else.

since i'm turning my bianchi into my track bike for the coming season (via white industries eccentric hub) i need a new road bike.

frame: salsa campeon black/red
components: campy centaur 9sp (chorus rear derailler)
wheels: velocity aerohead rims built around american classic hubs, 32h rear 3x, 28h front radial. wheelsmith ae15 (bladed, but fit through regular spoke holes) spokes. unbelievably light.

It's a hard call. I've got a jap built bianchi road frame in the garage that I'm pondering what to do with.

If it were to be a noncommuter.. I'd snap up the one offered me on email.

I have so many bikes I want to build. If I actually commuted I'd love to build up a cyclocross commuter. But that would mean I'd have to go to work so I don't think I like that idea.
I'd love to break out the welder and make a rickshaw for driving the kids around in. So much cooler than a trailer. I can also put them in front, which would be right in harms way so maybe that's not a good idea. Of course I could just put a massive chrome bumper on the thing.
I also really want a BMX bike to try and do flatland stuff with. I don't actually know how to do any flatland tricks but it looks like fun.
And of course I'd love a brakeless pursuit bike just because I think they look really cool and it would freak out the local lycra clad set.
