New here. There appear to be many widely used Acronyms and other bike lingo type terms in the forums.
I feel a bit lost sometimes. And then there are makes/types of bikes that have acronymical names..

It would be good to have a glossary here somewhere.. ( a sticky post in this forum? )

Of course, let me know if this already exists..

Here are some I've found with some guesses: (are these right?)
- LBS : Local Bike Shop ?
- OP : original post... got that one.
- "+1" ?
- "get aero" - get aerobic?
- Brifters ?
- "cross levers" - I think I can guess, but not sure of the latest designs.
- MTB - mountain bike?

others I can't remember.

Thanks to any who can contribute.

+1 = I agree with/support what was said earlier/quoted.
Get Aero = become more aerodynamic, ex. by going into the drops
(related) aero = Aerodynamic. ex. deep dish wheels are more aero than traditional 19mm rim wheels.
Brifters = Brake levers and Shifters

OP means I believe original poster, not post. it refers to the person, not the post.

WOL = wide outside lane?
MUP = multi-use path?

I, too, was baffled at some of these when I started coming here about a week ago. Still trying to learn my way around.

I really appreciate the responses. I'll ask again here if I find something else, and it's good to hear I'm not the only one trying to find his way around.

Getting aero = Getting aerodynamic. Tuck down low and tight (Elbows and knees tucked in clode to the center of mass to reduce frontal profile), getting the back as close to parallel to the top bar as possible to reduce aerodynamic drag.

This isn't quite getting areo, but it will give you an idea. If I were truly getting aero, my handlebars would be lower and my back flatter. I am more aerodynamic here that just riding the tops of the bars though because I am tucked in on aerobar handlebars
