Do you think Caisse should look to Pereiro as the GC leader instead of Valverde? It just looks like OP is riding much better than Valverde...

Actually, they're both in "no man's land", IMO - none of the GC contending teams are going to let either Valverde or Pereiro get much, if any real gap, b/c they're still too close in the GC to just let go. But they're too far back to be real GC contenders (b/c they can't make up that big a gap), and with too many riders to leapfrog.

The "better" stage-hunters at this point are the riders with absolutely no GC chances - say, 30+ minutes out of GC contention - then the GC teams will let those riders get a real breakaway (just like the ones that got out today to over 15 minutes ahead of the peloton).
