This is definately one of those two weeks that I wish I had a car. The temps aren't suppose to get over 10f for a better part of the week, relief coming Friday, but then plunging back in to the sub-teens. I ride in this stuff, but, if I had my druthers, I druther drive a friggin',

You know what I wouldn't druther drive... I druther everyone else got a bike and rode with me, that's what I druther...

Sorry, the cold often does funny things to the mind.

You've been pretty quiet lately, I've been wondering what you've been up to.

I'll ride with you, Naisme. I'll ride over here while you ride over there. Together, as we ride, our bike wheels will spin the world on it's axis.

(Naisme, which direction do you ride? If we ride opposite directions, we'll be making each other's commute more difficult! But if we ride together, the world will spin faster and spring will come sooner! So get busy, man! Pedal!)

So, I'm commuting on my favorite bike on my favorite route to work. The front end is acting squirrelly. I take a look at the wheel, a quick one and find it is out of true. Which I don't understand as I just spent a good hour and half truing the damn thing. So all night at work all I can think of is getting home in time to mess with this wheel in the new truing stand.

I ride the 23 miles home with this front end giving me fits, a head wind in the last mile that drops the temp to 9F. I climb off and look the wheel over. I swear this is a wheel that I worked over the other day. I swear it on a stack of bibles. but a quick squeeze of the spokes and you'd think this was some thrid grader's science project or something, and there's a broken spoke. This is a bad week. I just replaced the spokes and hub for another front wheel, so I may as well do this on too. I'm sure there's a third one waiting for me. And I don't want a car. Hmmm.

I don't have a car but I cycle very little in these temps. I use my bicycle in conjunction with public transportation. Is there a way you can ride part of the way and use a bus for the rest of the route?

I love cycling in this stuff, it is the bike/wheels that are balking at the moment.
I am so excited to be out there when the temp starts dropping to 10F by 5pm. By the time I get off at midnight it will be almost -8 with a strong wind with gusts to 30mph. It will be at my back I think. Usually a "westerly wind" means it comes out of the west blowing to the east, or is it opposite? I guessing I've been wrong about this, cause I'll look and see a NE wind and I'm met with a SW wind, and Vice versa. So someone told me wrong.
