I get a little queasy just reading this. But hey, if you got an extra Colnago lying around, why the heck not. You should be fine with the crank.

I wouldn't shave anything off a nice frame. Geez...I wouldn't even shave the derailer thingy off the old Raleigh. I'll shave just about anything but a nice fame!

HarHar...hey, while you're at it, you can also cut off the left side chain stay and the opposite seat stay. All the cool fixie kids do this.

Maybe you should build it up and leave the shifter bosses as they are. I know that's a radical suggestion, but...

ques: the crank that is on the 04 bianchi pista, can i swap chainrings from a shimano DA or integra ?

OneTinSloth

probably? as long as the BCD on the crank matches the BCD on the chainrings.

na975

what is bcd? bolt patern.

Kev

PLEASE DON'T!!!! :) Convert it to a fixie I agree with but not cutting anything off that beautiful frame. YOu can make the bosses look better get some caps or something for them I'm sure..

The shimano cranks are 130 BCD, I believe the pista cranks are 135 so you won't be able to swap them.

Screw everyone. **** everyone. Do what you want to do. Do what you feel is best. Everyone else doesn't ride the bike. ****, you won't even meet half of us here, ever. In fact, many of us don't even exist.

Just shaving off all the fittings is only the begining. The next thing you would have to do is replace the existing dropouts with track dropouts. Next, you would have to replace the forks with track forks. After you grind off the shifter bosses and cable guides you will have to have the frame striped and repainted. What you will have then is a frame that looks something like a track frame but is not because it dosen't have the correct geometry: the bottom bracket is not high enough and the head tube and seat angle is incorrect. If you did do all of those things you would have a nice street fixed gear bicycle but it would not be a track frame. Why don't you sell the Colngano frame and with the money you can get, if it is in good shape, you can buy a true track frame, if that is what you want. and no, I don't want to buy it.
Just my two cents worth.

You sick bastard.

I would give my left nut for that frame. You know what those paint jobs are like and if you sand or cut into that it will look like CRAP.

What size is the frame. If it is a 60-62 I will buy it.

I wish I could help you out Na975, but I can't financialy justify it at this time. If you still have it in about 6 months then I would take it :) Get rid of that shimano stuff and would be a great bike ;)

You coudl just pull off the inner and outer chain rings.. get a White industries Eccentric hub and a cog and you would be set.. you would still have the cable guides etc.. but those are hardly noticeble.. and to get rid of them would mean a repaint since woudl mess up the paint job..
