I just rode this bold and worthy steed:
http://www.fixedgeargallery.com/2008.../IanNigh_2.htm
from Cawston to Penticton, BC and back, with a detour to 3 mile beach near Naramata, BC for lounging in the sun. My computer logged 135k!
I was running 66 gear inches with a 44 tooth chainring and an 18 tooth cog. I recommend this gear ratio for anyone considering touring on a fixed through mountanous terrain!
The ride went really smoothly, although by the end my buns felt like they were on fire! This may have had to do with having toasted them a little too much at the beach!
Anyone else ride this highway (I think it is highway 5)
anyone else do long distance fixed?

Good going and congratulations!
Yeah, I like doing long distance rides on the fixed gear for the extra challenge. I normally push around 69 gear inches.
