I ordered a DeBernardi track frame from Yellow Jersey in Madison Wi. today. They will get it in and check it for alignment on friday, and then ship it to me the same day. I always wanted one and I had all the parts laying around and said "What the hell, I can't ride because all the roads are iced over and it is 10 below 0 with wind chill so why not build up a new bike and get ready for the spring riding weather". The only thing I had to buy was a different set of Phil Wood bottom bracket mounting rings (Italian thread) and A. Muzzi the owner, said he would give them to me cheaper because I was buying the frame. The only thing that bugs me is that they drill the front fork now as opposed to not doing it in the past. I guess more people ride it with front brake than without. It is just an esthetic thing; really of no consequence.
It should be built up by the middle or end of next week and I will post pics then. Looking forward to it. You can never have too many f/g bikes.

10 bucks says you'll go out and ride it in the ice anyway once you get it put together. :)

Sweet. I just got mine about a month ago. And yes, you should take it out and freeze a while. You'll be too jazzed to freeze, anyways. Did you get steel or aluminum? I got steel and love it.

To quote the famous bicycle authority: anon
"Only steel is real".

hey, enjoy the debernardi. I just got mine this past fall, and it's been nothing but pleasure. I've been meaning to post this pic, it's taped up for winter:

as far as the front brake holes... Someone has got to make a chrome screw in piece to cover up the hole... I know on my old VW, I could get chrome plugs for the antenna hole on the hood... I'd be surprised if someone out there hasn't cashed in on this

Some sort of "Not too to have a brake hole rule" here or something? Or for the sake of art?

just to keep it clean looking... a small chrome dot would look pimp... at least better looking than a hole, ya know
