REI was a great help for me today....
Had an issue with LBS but it has been resolved so I am editing the post as to not reflect badly on the LBS. They made it right.

REI ALWAYS has excellent service in my experience. That is why I go there.

LBS = allante?

I feel 100% better now after that meeting. The winds of change are brewing. We discussed the overall intimidation most recreational bikers receive from LBS employees and why it is so important for that to change if a "greener" movement is to succeed in the near future. (Which is going to be a larger niche ) Ways they can help, etc. He listened and we talked about the biking community as a whole for an hour and a half. It was really nice and genuine. I gave him this website as a reference and he said he will check it out. It's an excellent resource for what is needed from LBS these days. I am glad he took the time to listen and because of that, I will be back to visit the store.

I ALSO got a call from an employee of the LBS expressing his apologies. You know...I wish every business was this concerned with the people who keep their doors open. I think this is an awesome response. Unexpected....but great!! I feel appreciated and I feel that they appreciate every level now that I have spoken to them directly about it. I feel they were listening.

I still need to put a shout out to REI, though. I will also frequent them because they have also been excellent to me. But....would they call me and ask to meet me for coffee if I had a complaint? Hmmmmmm. Do I need to test this? LOL...
