They have brought back Dual Slalom to the Norba National Series. And they have introduced a new style of racing, Super D, which is downhill mixed with xc.

SuperD sounds interesting...whoa..take that back

Courses should have significantly more descending than climbing, be void of any jumps, and not be extremely technical

Sounds about as exciting as watching xc...too bad. It has potential if they would make it MORE technical than xc instead of less...

It hopefully will progress in the terms of Technicality over time. I hope. Since I'm planning on doing a national series race this season, I might give Super D a go at it.

That would be cool. It sounds like they are trying to make xc more interesting. If they play it right, this might work. I remember seeing some old school xc guy doing whoops and a slalom style jump. Really technical and damn fun to watch. I would love to see xc become old school :)

The Super-D has actually been going on for the last 3 or 4 years. It has grown in popularity because you do not need to have mad skills to make it through the course. You do need good endurance and like to ride fast though. If speed is not your thing you will not do to well. The courses are like the old Dh runs that where high speed with out any obstacals. Only now they added a couple of climbs.

Now if only the local races would have a DS series that would be cool. Other wise I will nly get to race 2 this year.
