okay...ive been working out and dieting for the last 3 weeks. its been going okay...ive cut alot of bad foods. But the bad part is that i cant keep myself from eating when im hungry. Right now as i am typing this im dying to eat something cus my stomach is growling. i know i should not be eating...but its just hurts too much not to eat. Even during the day...i try to space out my meals and eat more than 3x a day. But i find myself eating multiple times and eating till im full. The good part im not eating fast good...sometimes ill eat fruit..other times ill eat a couple pieces of grilled chicken.
I know what i am doing isnt good..and i shouldnt be doing it but what can i do when i get that hungry my stomach makes sounds.
Yes I eat whenever I'm hungry but as I also eat small/moderate nutrient dense balanced meals every three hours or so I don't have major cravings between meals even in a weight loss mode where sometimes I'll delay eating say after weight training or before a bike ride and run a slight overall calorie deficit .You've asked similar questions in the past and I and others have responded before but to summarize my view based on my recollection of your prior reported dieting habits if you cut calories too sharply and try to completely eliminate all fats while also limiting carbs in your diet you are going to experience these binges /craving that make staying on the diet difficult.I suggest you balance out your meals by adding some primarily mono/omega3 fats while keeping your carbs controlled in line with your activity level and see if this doesn't help your between meals cravings.Your body is basically telling you something is off with your diet whether its overall calories or lack of nutrients from an improperly balanced diet.

If you're exercising and getting hungry to the point of your stomach actually making noises, it probably means you're not eating enough.

I'm with Chris on this one.....
I am about to go and have me second bowl or plate of something since dinner. No riding for over a week, but damn working in the corn fields makes you hungry!!! (oh yeah I do get 6km of commute in!)

yes, eat when you're hungry, but try to eat less than you're used to eating to satisfy that hunger.
actually, your stomach ususally shrinks when you deny it food for a good while... so it's also a good idea to let your stomach complain awhile
I eat when I am hungry, but only enough to satisfy my little craving. I used to eat a big lunch and dinner. Now I eat a little between meals, but I do not go back for seconds. I also have less cravings for crappy foods like chips and heavy snack foods. Moderation my friend.

I agree with what's being said. Eat when you're hungry, but eat good food. The first thing that will kill my diet is starving myself to the point that I get frustrated and go on a big binge. Relax and remember you didn't gain all your weight in one week, so don't expect to lose it that fast. Change slowly and consistentely so you can keep up good habits for the rest of your life. Good luck.

Stop whatever it is you are doing and get a copy of "The Zone Diet". One of the keys to losing weight (and good health) is eating correctly and keeping your body's hormone levels in the proper "zone". The thing I like most about The Zone Diet is that you should never get hungry. I don't do well when I am hungry, and I don't make good choices about food when I am hungry. If you allow your body to go into starvation mode, which is easier than you might think, it will actually horde fat. Good luck Oh yeah, www.drsears.com

I don't have a problem eating too much. If I lay off the junky fat-filled desserts, or fried greasy things, those are calories I can eat in the form of good, nutritious, delicious food.
I think the smartest thing to do, besides exercise, to control weight is to lay off the junk and the eating out. I go ahead and fill up on healthy foods to make me strong.
Whenever I see someone buying a huge, greasy, sugary muffin, I wonder how they will ever control their weight.
If your stomach is growling, it probably means you need food.
So eat a snack. Try to avoid those wonderful yummy empty calorie sort of things like snickers bars, potato chips, chicken wings, you get the point.
Stuff to eat would be say an orange, a banana, brocolli, carrot sticks, a slice of unbuttered whole wheat toast - you know whole grains, fresh fruit, or vegetables.
It does take more time to do this. A friend of mine developed diabetes. He found that to keep his blood sugar in the right zone, he had to eat more often and eat a whole bunch of rabbit food. No more donuts and coffee or snickers snacks.
