Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Based on the latest weigh in reports it appears that nearly everyone is on track.

What strategies are you using to lose weight? Specific Diets? Training Programs? Tell us what's working for you.

Regular exercise and sensible eating (cutting the junk).

I've used the trainer or the gym for ar least 30 mins / 3 to 4 times a week, plus riding at least 25 miles on both Saturday and Sunday. I've been reading up on heart zone training, so have been trying to follow that to some extent particularly when in the gym.

I didn't have huge losses this week, but it's one of those scenarios where slow and steady often wins the race!

i am ringing the trainer for 45 minutes every day and working out 4 days a week, I have also played basketball about 3 day a week. I have gone on the low carb diet also and have not noticed any energy problems. If I go for a long road ride(if it ever gets warm enough) I will load on some carbs that day. Im down from 265 to 254 as of today and have lost a inch off my waist. im actually starting to feel like I did when I graduated high school and was in great shape weighting 215lbs. I know I have a ways to go but am really happy with my results.

good luck all

I started doing Chris Carmichael's HRM training program spelled out in Lance Armstrong's book Seven Weeks to the Perfect Ride, I've also cut out drinking sodas and have been on a Not so strick version of the Atkins diet. I still eat some fruit and more carbs, just more sensible eating, just less food but with a focus on reducing Carbs and increasing Proteins.

The reduction of sodas is what really works!

I have also cut out soda and am trying to cut back on most junk foods. I am trying to eat more natural things. When it gets above freezing here I will do some hiit style runs and some nice rides. I also lift 4 days a week. My main focus areas are:
1. running HIIT sprints and/or biking
2. lifting
3. eating natural things...plants or things that once walked

Eating sensibely and exercise. I'm just trying to make small changes in my diet to more natural foods. It's tough to get out riding in this weather but I have been using my nordictrack consistentely. I honestly believe that this is one of the best cardio exercisers around. You can find so many of them used in the paper for a good price, I would suggest trying one. It takes a while to get used to but keep trying and you'll love it. It's nice to use as well while watching the Vancouver Canucks take it to their opponents.

Well, I've gone from 325lbs to, yesterday, 239lbs. So... I'm just going to keep doing what I've been doing- eating less and moving more.
