So I bought a new saddle and figured I'd do a saddle swap from my "fast" bike to the commuter, and on down the line. Commuter is off the road pending new wheels (backordered). After I mounted the new saddle on the "fast" bike I wanted to take a ride and dial it in, but it was hot, muggy, and I had a long day and hense opted to sit on the couch instead.

This morning there's no rain forcasted so I said "Hey, I'll take the "fast" bike in to work. I'll bring a wrench just in case I need to tweak the saddle position." Turns out the new saddle is far less thick than the old, and now my seatpost is too low. I didn't bring that wrench.

Doh!

Similar thing happened to me, I had to readjust after my Brooks got broken in. At 800 miles of riding, the saddle finally felt perfect, but the bike did not, raised the seat up 1/4 of an inch from the original "new" brooks position, and bike feels normal again.

I make sure to measure how high the saddle is on all my bikes before changing them now. I have had that same problem & I actually didn't like when I put my road bike saddle on my new commuter, I don't know why. could just be the different position. I still need a new saddle for my commuter.

I ended up swapping out the mini vise-grips in my tool bag for a 6" crescent wrench after my dogbone wrench broke. One of my better decisions.
