Is anyone racing in prospect tomorrow morning?
I'll be there, tuning up for the Cedar Mountain road race next month.

there will be a decent showing there but probably not full blown because CRCA has racing also. I would prefer the 17 miles cat 5 race over the C race at CP though. 5 Laps tomorrow = 30 miles....

I'm hoping to actually get to the race (unlike two races ago when an early morning collision resulted in a 5AM closure of I87) and finish the race (unlike last week when I punctured, rode half the race with a mushy rear tire and finally bailed on lap 8).
I'll be racing with those 35+ kids again.

I've never done this race... what is it like. How does it pan out. Sounds like a sprinters course...
I was planning on driving down to Mt Holly for Mt Holly GP but this is a lot closer. Mt Holly sounds like a more technical course with 1 supposedly small ring climb... not sure if that is true.

Essentially. However the 3.3 mile circuit (that's about what it is, it's over 3 miles) curves quite a bit. That means if your breakaway group gets a 20 second gap, they are often out of sight. In the Master's races there are often breakaways that do succeed. Last week the average speed approached 26mph in the 35+ race, and when it's that fast, it generally comes down to a field sprint as it did last Saturday. I'll tell you what, come July and the warm humid weather everybody is friggin FLYING. It's fun.

It is definitely a sprinter's course, it has a pimple of a climb on it and a fast downhill section.
I was originally going to do the Mt.Holly race, its supposed to be a 2.2 mile loop with a nice uphill section. I have some teamates doing that, but i decided to go w/ Prospect as its closer

ah! I went for the Mt Holly race. need a few more curves and a little bump in the road to make it fun for me. The irony is that at 40 minutes long, the race is technically worthless for upgrading.

I hook up with them on Piermont Road in Rockleigh, NJ. I park at the bike shop in Piermont, NY.

I know you are all probably sleeping now(as I should be), but I was rounding the park today and the 10am guys told me to show tomorrow. I see online registration closed days ago, are my chances more then ok if I just show up 6am for a measly cat 5?

with only 15 preregistered I'd say they're pretty good
