Maybe it's a little premature but wanted to through this out to the group. Anyone doing this ride? I've already signed up but don't know if it's sold out. BTW, I'm doing the 100k.

I did it last year - it's a really nice century - well organized and supported, and a very nice route.

I'm doing the Crater Lake Century this year instead - same weekend.

If anyone would like a ride to Napa and share expenses, I'm game but only have room for 1 more bike. Send me a PM.

Not premature at all - I just took a look at the list of confirmed riders and there's ~500 spots left out of 2000. It could very well sell out - looks like a great event.

Amy,
Yes it surely will sell out. I definitely won't miss this one!

I don't understand why it's $50.

I don't get what you mean. Most big organized rides cost money.

I'll check with my wife. Her birthday is that week and she's been talking about getting in to kayaking so I may be going with her to a bunch of places that day. She's got a nice little spend set up since I've been getting to have all the fun buying bikes and stuff for bikes etc :\

Hi, we're also doing the tour! If you see a blue Santana, that's probably us. So say hi! :)

Did it last year, and doing it again this year. It's a great ride. Century has two really good climbs, Veeder is tough enough, but Ink Grade killed me, especially right after lunch. The price tag is well worth it. The BBQ at the end is great, rivaled by the Marin Century, which I think is the best post ride bash in Marin.

My wife and I will be doing the 65 mile route on our Calfee tandem trike. We also rode the Marin Metric Century on it this past weekend. We saw I believe two trikes on the Marin ride, a white Catrike and an ICE Trice.

That white trike was me (Catrike 700). Your Tandem trike looked amazing. I have seen it in pictures before but it looks even better in the carbon.

Bump for this weekend. I'm doing the 100 mile ride - should I start right at 6, or is 7 OK? Also, what's the parking situation like there? Is it a nightmare?

I would have been up for the metric, but I'm out of town this weekend. Hope ya'll have a great time! And make sure to post pictures!

I started at 6AM last year because I wanted to avoid the heat as much as possible. Parking was a breeze at that hour, but there weren't a whole lot of riders on the road yet. If you start later, you are likelier to get the benefit of monster pacelines as you go up Silverado Trail. But parking won't be quite as easy.

I'm riding the metric but would really like to ride with someone form the forums. I plan on starting around 7:00. So, if anyone here is interested send me a PM. I'm leaving out of San Jose around 5.

So we can start riding whenever we get there? Don't have to wait till 8?
Also, my friends and I rented a hotel in Napa about 6 miles away from the veterans home, Is it better to ride to the start point or drive and park there. My concern is for barbeque after the ride will there be a safe place to leave the bike?

There are a few of us from FFBC who are doing the 100 mile route and starting around 7am. Feel free to join us if the routes overlap.

I am also planning to start around 7am for the 100 route (I am in FFBC too). As I will be riding on my recumbent I will probably end up riding on my own after a few miles.
