Folding Bikes - Pics of my Batavus Nova Versa

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Since there is not that much information online about the Batavus Nova Versa, I thought I'd post some pictures here. The Nova Versa has 24 inch wheels and is offered in a 3-speed and a 7-speed version. It is being marketed as a "long distance" folding bike, thanks to the big wheels.

Interestingly, the front hub is Dahon. It has a dynamo on the inside. The rear light has an on/off switch and a sensor, so that the light goes on when it is dark and when you move the bike. It also has batteries for when you're waiting for a red light at night, for instance.

This magnetic disc connects to a similar disc on the front wheel when the bike is folded.

nice bike!
Quite a number of Dahon attributes again. Made by Dahon factory, my guess.
Wow what a bike, very nice, I would buy one! 24" wheels cool!

Do you know where I could buy a set of those 24 inch mudguards/fenders?

Batavus doesn't sell them on their site, I'd try some bike dealer. I don't know where you're from, but they must have 24 inch wheels there too, don't they?
It has quite a compact fold despite the slightly larger wheels. Seems the frame tubing has been given some careful thought about how to keep the fold small.

Lex,
I live in Australia and stuff like this is as rare as hen's teeth or rocking horse poo, also over here very few riders use guards.....too proud I guess?

Hi Lex Dura
Very classic look and nice components. Nice commute you take, lucky you! :)
I'm picking up my Gazelle folder from Nottingham today. Going to try it out on the return journey by dropping off to the lovely towns of Leamington & Warwick later.

Thanks. The bike is quite expensive over here too, I know. I bought this one second hand, which saved a bundle.
I forgot to mention that the pedals can be flipped to the inside, which saves a little more space.
I wish I could do my commute on bike more often. It's an 18km ride, one way. I take the bike in the bus in the morning, then catch a train to work. In the evening, instead of taking the bus, I ride the bike. the scenery is beautiful but sometimes I have to carry heavy files, or I have to wear a suit to work, which kind of eliminates communiting by bike....

I need to learn how to do cabling. I'm not a fan of excess cabling.
