Advocacy & Safety - Calling the city about problems

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I called the city about the lack of signs for motorist to see the bike lane. They came out to look, missed the area, and asked me to see it, so I got an email, snapped a few pictures, and then sent them. Here's what it looks like from my angle, you can see the sign is plain faded out.

In this case, the sign has been (eeeeek) run completely over and the sign ripped off...

Something else you might want to mention. In those photos I don't see a single bicycle logo painted on the road inside the bike lane area. I would have thought this would be a pre-requisite.
I despise it when rail road tracks the road at an angle.
What are the specs on your TJ?

98 TJ (sport). Auto, D44 is how it came.
Full roll cage (sadly, done post roll), 4.10 gears, ARB locker F&R, Flat skid (crappy teraflx), RE uper and lower arms (custom lower fronts with hiems), JB SYE.. Turbo city oil skid (comes of about every 6 months.. need something better), Sun Performance rock rails, Currie front bumper, customer rear, rancho shocks in front, billstien in rear (which I HATE), 35" mtr's, stearing skid, tow hooks (frame mounted front and rear), custom Kilby gas tank skid, sahara seats, no carpet, short exhaust, kevlar drum pads rear, currie antirock, 4 hood stops (so when you put your hood up it doesn't hit the window frame) and...
A homer simpson but crack sticker on the side.
It needs help.

I hate them too. The last time I rode in Philadelphia those trolley tracks nearly killed me! Fortunately, the traffic was grid locked or the car behind me would have ran me over!
I know it may be asking too much but could they build a bike lane with more yellow lines on the outside to leave you a margin in case of driver error?
