I don't have a clue what it is but after seeing Cavendish's sprints I may have to head across the big pond to the land of Stapfam to find out what in the world they eat over there........

haggis and a bottle of dog
That guy must eat Jet Fuel:giver:
You think he may be taking Hammer Nutrition?
Here are the sponsors...you know he gets their stuff for free. http://www.highroadsports.com/partners He certainly outclasses the rest of the peloton.

Can I choke down haggis once and be fast forever? I might be tempted to try it that way, but not if I have to eat it again to stay fast! I have no idea what a bottle of dog is, but it couldn't be as bad as haggis!

Haggis is Scottish- and Mark is from the Isle of Man. I am being optomistic and just hoping that he is taking nothing stronger than Earl Grey Tea and Biscuits.
But he is only 23 and like all Youngsters- He lacks stamina. He might be allright for a 200 yard sprint- but ask him to do a 120 mile ride up hills and he will be last.

He must be eating speed foods. But since he is now tired and most likely pulling out of the Tour, I doubt he is eating endurance foods.

I'm guessing it's not moon pies or doughnuts. :D

No--- Its Wagon wheels and PIE. Doughnuts are only good as a supplement to pie.
For the hills you have to take something more sustaining.

Mark finally pulled out of the race today after a fantastic performance for such a young sprinter. Four stage wins is rare territory. He was far and away the fastest sprinter in this year's race. With age will come the endurance to combine that speed with surviving the mountains. I definitely expect to see him wearing a Green Jersey on a future Paris podium.

He did? I got to see the last few minutes of the TdF on the replay last night and heard the interview with Mark. The interviewer wished him good luck tomorrow and Mark acknowledged... so I thought he was going to continue. Why would he pull out anyway? I heard the talk about it, but never understood what was going on.

I initially said he pulled out yesterday after misreading the report on Cyclingnews.com. He finished yesterday, but did not start today. Sorry for the confusion.

His team needs to keep him in shape for later races this year. He simply doesn't have the legs to keep up in the mountains. He's done his job here. Time for him to recover now.

He is also in the GB team for the Olympics and I should think this affected his decision. Plus the fact all he is going to earn for a possible 5th win on the final stage is a bit of prestige and a Kna&*ered body.
