Introductions - Oops, my bad... didn't stop here first

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

greets,

been posting all day and just now noticed i'm supposed to stop in here first and intro myself. *hangs head for not reading* my bad, sorry.

i'm from the pacific north west, seattle area. however i spend a lot of time out side the US. currently waiting on a visa for the U.K. so i can spend another year there. got rid of my car in favor of cycling two years ago.

currently own three bikes. my oldest is now destroyed beyond recognition and has been sitting in the garage for 3 years now. i keep her to remind me that no matter how careful you are, someone else isn't. got hit on ol' faithful 3 years ago by a driver going 70mph. found out i really do have buns of steel *giggle* as i walked away from it and the truck didn't! miss her though, although one good thing about it, she'll fit in my purse if i ever decide to move her!

second bike is a raligh (spelling?) S.U.B. i got her in GB. her name is francis and she's a touring bike that unfortunetly hurts my back to ride, but she's great for hauling all the things that i don't need to haul but can't seem to part with. (yes the kitchen sink fits just fine in my panniers)

my third love is a new greenspeed GTC named sheila. she's currently being built in australia and i'm hoping she'll be here in feb., for my birthday. i decited on getting her to help eleviate the back pains that francis inflicts on some days. sometimes my backs just too weak to stand a DF.

and thats me.

cheers
kat

Welcome to the forums. Lots of UK posters on the forums so you should feel at home on either side of the Atlantic. Sounds like Britain is home, what do you do (for a living) to get to go back to the UK?

actually i'm perminently disabled and not higherable, at least for a 9-5 job. head injuries suck. (learned the hard way that helmets are a good thing!) i have a significant other in the UK. if it wasn't for him i'd never have seen the other side of the pond. now i'm just waiting on visa status to get back to him.

thank you very much for the greets. lots of nice people in these here forums. think i'll be a happy camper.

cheers
