Can anyone tell me how to get dirt stains off of my windjacket. I got a new one because my old one was so bad that I don't like to wear it around other people.:(
The jacket is 100% polyester and is black and bright yellow, Very flash. The yellow has some dirt on it and I don't want to put it in the wash for fear of setting the stains. I never could get my old jacket clean, so any help would be appreciated.
If you have some really bad spots, put liquid dish soap on those spots, rub it in and let it soak for a few minutes. Then wash it with other items in COLD water. This always works for me.

If your jacket is a name brand you might try the manufacturer's website. I have seen some that offer detailed care suggestions, especially for outdoor gear with special care needs.

Thanks guys. RonH I followed your suggestions and the new jacket looks new again.:) I also tried it on the old jacket and got it cleaner but it still has stains from chain lube and blood. I guess it adds character.
Rainman, the jacket is made by Bellwether and I can't find a website for them.
