Background: I hang my wash out on clotheslines in an effort to save electricity.

So, I arrived a work a few months ago with my work clothes in my bag, went to get a shower, towel off and get dressed for the day. As I went to put on my shirt, I noticed a rather large brown spot in the middle of the shirt. When I inspected it closer, I noticed it was a piece of dried bird **** that had somehow seeped into the material and made a nice 4-inch diameter brown circle.

What to do? I took the shirt off and washed the spot by hand and went to work with a large wet spot near my shoulders and explained to everyone about a "wardrobe malfunction". The spot dried nicely later that morning, but since that day I inspect my shirts and pants at home before I put them in my pannier.

Does anyone have a more embarassing moment?

I wear scrubs at work, and I have forgotten the pants or shirt. Now I keep a complete uniform in a bag in the back of my desk. I dont think about it being there and prepare every day with everything I need. But I know someday I will forget some essential article of clothing and it will be sealed in a plastic bag in the back of my desk. Dont help much if you wear a suit I guess.

For most of my teen years, my dad kept a suit jacket at work. No matter how he got to work (car or bike), he always had it handy in case of an Important Meeting. If he rode in, he'd wear his usual workout clothes on the bike and carry his work clothes (shirt, tie, suit pants... no jacket since he'd need a lab coat). If he drove, it'd be the other way 'round, and he'd do a couple miles of running during lunch.

The habit seemed to work well for him.

Once I was out of high school, his workplace got much more casual and he discovered that he could cheat and handle even a formal meeting in a company jumpsuit. I think the suit jacket moved home after that :D.

Closest I can get to the birdsh** story is:

About 5 years ago, I rode to work (40-minute commute 1-way), and realized when I got there that I'd forgotten my work shoes! Had to wear my mtb cleats all day! Aside from slightly sore calves at day's end, it wasn't all that bad, and only got a couple wierd looks.

After that, the work shoes got stashed AT WORK.
