I caught a little bit of the prime time show yesterday and noticed that Bob has started pronouncing it correctly. What is the world coming to?

If VS has told him so, we must now all give everyone the original, correct Bobke pronounciation

Are you going to miss the old days of Tour Day Frants?

No more schlubes or schmenges (sp?) either. Bobke is way too tame this year!

shmenges...lol

i remember once he used the expression "bling bling tchotchkes"...referring to the swag that riders throw away, bottles etc picked up by spectators.

I think they told him to calm it down. Takes away all the fun.

I noticed this too - last week tried doing a search on why Bobke is selling out. As someone who has ridden the Tour Day Frants and Paris-Roubaix - he can say it however the hell he wants, IMHO.

Go Bob!

I hope next year he pronounces it his usual way. My girlfriend sometimes watches the stages with me, and she laughed when I said, "What happened to Bob Roll?".

Cheers

Dave

I did hear him "schluge" at one point, but the lack of tour day frants is a bit sad.

they DID let him speak Italian, though, so maybe that was the deal?

Bob says the Tour de France, and they let him give the stage info in the pre-race in Italian?
