Does it take more to untrue it than a regular spoked wheel?

they aren't necessarily perfectly true when made.

I have some original specialized trispokes that have been raced pretty hard and crashed a few times and they're still fine. A little scuffed, but no less true than when I got hem.

there is no way to true them. when they get too bad you either buy a new set or sell them to hipsters.

Standard resale value is around $300 by the way.

fortunately and unfortunately no,

fortunately, because if they are originally true (from the factory molding process) they retain their shape until they day they die.

unfortunately, because if your unlucky/ get a old carbon wheel, it's stuck that way... forever.

with carbon being extremely rigid and having a 2% elasticity, it doesn't change after the resin has cured.

luckily modern day production of carbon has made this less of a issue.

I have seen one that was very out of true. But I don't think it's much to worry about if you're using it on the velodrome. It would probably take several major potholes or crashes.
