Do you like a long wheel base, or a short wheel base?

I like having a long wheel base on my bike.

Hey, remember those 10 speeds from the 80's, the wheel bases were so short. hahahaha :D

I think a longer wheelbase will ride better and a short one will handle better?Does that sound right?

ever hear of thinking before you speak?

different bikes have different uses. a long wheelbase is more stable, but less agile, and vice versa for a short wheelbase.

Come on......your making it seem too reasonable.

What he asked was a question about what people like, and then stated that he liked whatever he said. It wasnt a question like "what kind of wheelbase is best for what", which is a real question.

I just thought of something. I have an 80s ten speed. its got a really long wheelbase. just thought I'd put that out as a counterpoint for you, jerk.

back to the question, a longer wheelbase will make it more stable and improve the ride of the bike. It will also make the frame somewhat more flexible to absorb vibrations, etc.
The shorter wheelbase frames will be faster, and more efficient because of the stiffer frame.
That's why a touring bike will have a longer wheel base than a road racer.

My touring bike from the late 80's had a longer wheelbase.. The geometry is almost the same as the road racing bikes except that the Chain stays were longer.
