Electronics, Lighting, & Gadgets - Any bright lights w/o wires?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Wondering if there are any decent light set-ups that don't have a mile of wiring? I'm wanting a good to "see" light (I figure if I can see w/it, then others will see me).
Only need it for the return trip home. Using it on about 6 blocks of streets, then like 8 miles of MUP with limited street crossings.

http://www.exposurelightsusa.com/ They have some good ones here.
Without wires, your best bang for the buck is going to be a good LED flashlight mounted on the bar. See this thread (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=441808) for a couple of shots of some different lights used in that manner. I'd recommend the Inova or the Coleman. Compact, and plenty of light for running on a MUP so long as you're not trying to break speed records. ;) (in which case I'd suggest throwing all three lights together like I had at the bottom) ;)
Hope that helps!

I actually read that thread before starting this one. How did you mount the various flashlights? Twofish, velcro, lockblocks, or ?
Fenix LD2 and Two Fish brand Lock Blocks.
Or, if you have deep pockets the USE lights mentioned above.

I used twofish lockblocks. For a 2AA type light like the Inova or a Fenix L2D, it does a pretty good job holding position on the handlebars. For a larger/heavier light like the Task Force, it can slip around on rough roads. You'll want to mount it under the handlebar rather than above (so at worst it slips into a "straight ahead" position). I had it positioned so that the head of the light was braced against the amber blinky (in front of it). That helped hold it's position.
Alternatively, use an extension (the little stub bars you use to get extra space to mount computers, etc) like this (http://www.performancebike.com/shop/profile.cfm?SKU=22874&subcategory_ID=4323) to mount two lockblocks on the light. One on the handlebar, a 2nd on the extension, positioned out in front.
Good luck!
