Any comments, pro or con? Thanks ahead of time...
I did, for about a month. Until I got hit by a car. Replaced it with an Orbea.
That said, I was just starting to really bond with that bike when I got clipped. Very quick. A demon climber. A little too harsh for really long rides, though. And I hated the stock seat.

Love it! For the money, you can't go wrong. I found it very smooth - but I've only owned very stiff Al bikes (c'dale, etc). The stock saddle really is terrible. I don't know what they were thinking. It's very stiff and quick.. I can't get the chain to rub no matter what. The compact geometry is very responsive, though it seems a but cramped to me. The stock wheels (R540s) are a bit soft, but are light and quick. Really, if you can get on sale now and it fits, go for it. It's a great race bike, but could wear you down over a century.

I upgraded from a 2000 Allez Comp to the '03 Pro frame (same as the '03 Comp save for paint scheme). The bike climbs hills like they're nothing. Also the frame is extremely comfortable compared to their older A1 aluminum. Also the frame is much stiffer than my old bike.

Have an '04 Allez Comp - identical to '03 save for different tyres and paint scheme.
Pro: Stiff, fast, decent groupset (Ultegra), decent frame (Columbus E5 SLX)
Con: Saddle, some don't like the R540 wheelset
Comparable bikes: Giant TCR1, Trek 2300
The Specialized is certainly good value for money. That's the reason I went for one. Happy customer (so far).

I love the bike. Though I can't really compare to others because it's my only road bike. The saddle definately has to go, that's the only con about the bike I can think of. But its really light, and relatively cheap for full ultergra. I'm 150 lbs and have done a century and a half on it without the aluminum shaking me to peices. If you are looking for sheer performance you might wanna get a new set of wheels. the R540s will hold out fine, they are really sturdy for 16 spoke wheels, but they are a lil heavy. I've done fairly well in races with these wheels though so it can still be done. Oh, another dislike I have is the bar width, it makes it tricky to mount computers and aero bars, just to warn you. Other than that I love this bike!
