Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Hey all -
I'm dropping my step-daughter off at USF in August. I'll have maybe half a day to poach a ride somewhere.
We'll probably stay somewhere in SF - any suggestions for a close-in (hour drive max) ride? Climbing doesn't bother me - you have oxygen there....:D

If you are ready for a scenic ride unique to the Bay Area I would recommend the Golden Gate-Sausalito-Fairfax-Mt. Tam via Alpine Lake ride. It will be around 50 miles totals with about 4,000' of climbing, no driving necessary as you can start from USF.

What's the day? time line? I could take you on a tour city/rural.

+1 Tons of great rides in the area, but it's hard to think of one prettier than that one.

It'll be the week of August 20th - I think I'll be able to get out Saturday - I believe Sunday is when we drop her off. I'll get more info soon. And hopefull, I don't get the stare of death for doing this. I've already told my wife I'm bringing my bike....

Mt. Tam is a nice ride. The Marin Headlands and Sausalito is also nice if you want a shorter ride. Do both if you want something longer.
