Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Cycling coaches, will they help a clyde?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I live in Chicago. Its easy to find a Cycling & fitness coach if you compete in Triathlons or road races.
I would like to consult with a specialist about development issues, but I am not planning on competing.
Where can I get a little personal attention?

Thanks Tom,
Searching within that website provided this: http://www.chicagoendurancesports.com/prog/centurycycle_fall08.htm#questions
I'm going to see if I can attend.

Are our instincts pretty much to the mark. Ride, ride, ride. So maybe ,your interest is long distance and endurance.? Long distance can certainly be endurance riding. Solutions. Join up with like minded cyclists who do your kind of bike activity and get addicted. Read. For long distance riding, I liked the book, "Long Distance Cycling," by Burke and Pavelka.

If you have the money, I'm sure they have the time :P

See if you can talk to her: http://www.chicagoendurancesports.com/bios.htm#rudser (if you're trying to lose weight). Exercise physiologist / nutritionists are gold. They sift through the mountain of good and bad advice you'll get on 'net and set you up on a plan that is tuned to your physiology.
I meet with one from time to time, it's covered by my companies flex spending plan.

Thanks Ron,
That's the second recommendation for CES. I sent them an inquiry by email this morning.

Michael, I've never dealt with them personally, however, I have heard good things about them in the Tri world.

Oh sorry, I wasn't specifically recommending them or her specifically as I've never used their services. I was just pointing out that she has the same qualifications of people (physiologist & nutritionist) that have really helped me. Good luck to you!
