I've seen that the Downtube Mini can be packed into a 29" samsonite (Jur). I haven't worked much yet on my bike and definitely haven't dismantled it to pack and am wondering if anyone can tell me exactly what I need to do for it to fit in the case. IE does one-or both-of the pedals come off? It looks in the photo like the main hinge is disconnected, and that the front wheel is released. I think the stem is removed at the hinge as well. If that is the case is there anything in particular I need to be aware or careful when removing the stem (or any of the other parts?) Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have folding pedals, so I unscrewed them. Just for storage I put them back in reverse but that caused some other hassles such as not being able to rotate the cranks when needed.

I removed the folding handlepost, and the top telescoping part that has the stem and bars attached, as well. The bars were also removed from the stem. These are quick to do. Maybe with some more puzzling it would be possible to do less disassembly with these items. But the handlepost assembly has to come away from the bike, it is too high and won't go into the suitcase when on the bike.

Front wheel was out (obvious), and rear wheel as far forward in the track end as possible. Both tyres deflated so that they took less space.

The seatpost was also loose.

No other disassembly.

great, Thanks! Good to know the main hinge doesn't need to come undone.
