Hi,
Been riding a very short while almost was killed today, I was crossing a intersection and a car came from no where going 50 + and I was nearly hit broadside crossing the road.
It was very close she had to be speeding in her honda SUV grey. DIdin't get the plate but I did see fear in her eyes as she passed inches from my front wheel.
It can happen so fast .
Well that ruined my ride I was cursing and thinking about how i was nearly DOA.:injured:

HI,
I had the green light but had to be careful due to turning cars were turning from center lanes with light the honda ran a red light.

beings the SUV was traviling near 50 I doubt I would have survived a broad side hit even with a helmet.

I hop you're able to bounce back from this okay. I know something like that would have shaken me up pretty good.

Are there by any chance any cameras at that intersection?

A pizza guy did this to me over a year ago... I know the feeling. I was hammering along and had a good green and just crossed this intersection... on the far side was an empty lane next to a couple cars waiting at their red... pizza guy slipped right on by. He wasn't going 50; maybe speed limit, at 35, but he shouldn't have been there. I saw the whole thing in slow motion... my front wheel about a foot from his side door. I may have braked a bit, and turned a bit, but it all happened so fast I didn't think about it. I did yell. I just missed the tail end of his car.

Later I called the Pizza company... "no such car or driver... "

If I had been going a hair faster, or he a touch slower, I probably wouldn't be typing this.

Had another one about 6 months later... woman on cell phone yacking away... black Mercedes, darkened windows... she has this whole business attire thing going... as she zips right through the red light, right in front of me. She was going 50, and I had watched her car long enough to guess that she was clueless about the light, so I slowed down and I was right. I was in the middle of the intersection as she flew by... Clueless b!tch.

The sad thing is that a few of these close calls really start to put the "nerves" on ya.

If two cars meet in this manner, air bags go off, metal gets dented, glass breaks, but folks probably walk away... My bike doesn't even have air bags. :(
