Given that quite a few members here advocate more bicycle riding in our ever enlarging (take that any way you want :) ) communities, I thought I'd mention that Miller Lite seems to be espousing the same sentiment.

I didn't hear the entire narrative, but I recently saw a TV ad of a guy riding a bike in the snow and heard a snippet to the effect of, "pulling your own weight." Anyone else see this? What was the gist of ad? Well, besides the obvious, "drink Miller Lite". . . I didn't catch the whole thing and I'm curious.

Edit: BTW, I feel the need to add that you'll never catch me actually drinking this Miller Lite swill.

<SNIP> Miller Lite swill.

Another mans "swill" is my tasty treat! :D

I will say that Miller is my fave mass-produced canned American beer, but we in the Northwest prefer a good robust, dark microbrew that can chip a tooth if sipped too quickly.

I'd like to see (take your pick) a beer, burger joint, junk food comercial in which the actors all look like people who consume the products advertised. I guess a bunch of people lumbering across the beach while stuffing uniformly-shaped potato wafers into their mouths and swilling beer doesn't make good marketing...

Wait a minute, the commercials show what the people who swill the beer think they see.

I really do appreciate the fact you're sittin' here
Your voice sounds so wonderful
But yer face don't look too clear
So bar maid bring a pitcher, another round o' brew...[/U]

I guess I should also point out that this wasn't a typical beer ad that might feature a MTB blazing through the snow showing all the cool skills you somehow obtain by drinking their crappy (oops, I mean, um, bland.... er, how about nondescript?) beer. This was just some average guy puttering through the snow with what I take to be a 6-pack in a front basket on the bike.

Since I didn't quite absorb the ad, I was curious as to what their message was after hearing the, "pull your own weight," blurb. I may have to sit glued to the TV for hours on end until I see it again :) .

Oh, I crack myself up!

An even better brewery that promote cycling is New Belgium. I like their Porch Swing and of course the evewr popular Fat Tire.

This is making me thirsty.

Manna from Heaven, Mother's Milk, Colorado Kool-Aid, Coors Original!

Coors Original!

????

You drink cat urine? To each his own, I guess. However, you should know that Coors is not really beer. I hate to break it to you, but the American Pilsner is a weak attempt at taking a world-renowned innovation and reducing it to wallpaper. (See American version of football.)
Come and visit us in the northwest and we'll show you some real beer. No condescending intended... I'm just truly intent on saving the country from bad beer.

I wouldn't exactly give Coors all those kudos, but I admit that it beats the rest of the bland beers that they serve at the *****-tonk I go to. I think I'm the only one there that drinks it; they have to dust off the bottle when they bring it to me! ;) One Coors original in a sea of Bud-lights; I do stand out!

I grew up about 30 miles from Heaven, more commonly called the Coor's Brewery in Golden, Colorado. Althought I don't drink all that much any more, perhaps a six pack every two years or so...it is either Guinness or a Coor's Original.

Any of you guys ever hear of Guinness???

Now that's the real stuff!!!

yes, Guinness IS THE STUFF...however, in my little hick-ville honkey tonk, the only thing they sell is bottle-lite-weak-'merican stuff....so, Coors is the best choice, for me.

once you have tasted what real beer taste like you will never let Budwieser or Coors pass you lips again.

Doesn't have to be from a particular brewer, but barley wines, stouts and ales are where it's at, and no mass market brewers even come close to doing a good one... around here Bell's is always a good bet.
