I moved to the East Coast (Boston) from California about a year ago, and haven't ridden a double century since. I did a bunch of the Triple Crown rides when I was in California, and really enjoyed them. I've been riding a fair amount, but the longest ride I've done is a century (just completed my second of the year). Does anyone know of any double metric or longer rides in the New England area. The only ones that I have found are the Boston Brevet Series (they have a double on August 16).

There used to be a self-supported double called the Petersham Double Century that was put on by some members of Charles River Wheelmen, but last I knew it was currently on hiatus. As far as organized, supported rides go, Harpoon's Brewery to Brewery only runs for about 150, but I've heard that it's a blast. There's also the Saratoga 24 hour and the Hudson River 12 in upstate New York, but this is more of a 24 hour race format than it is a traditional double century. Then, aside from that, both the Boston Brevet Series and the Westfield series at New Horizons Sports are the primary games in town.
fyi, speaking of New Horizons, you might want to consider the Deerfield Dirt Road Randonnee. It's only 100 miles, but since it's also 70 miles of dirt and some serious kneebusting climbs, it's just about as challenging as a double.

a small group of us from up north here are doing the 100k version - but we are adding a 20 mile ride to the start from where we are camping. should be fun. i'm debating which bike to take, and how to rig it...
as per doubles - you won't go wrong on any of the boston brevet rides. good people riding and great organizers. i haven't done a westfield, ma ride - but i've heard good things from them as well.
at one point there was talk of breathing life into the 200/100 ride in vermont - basically you ride the length of the state on rt. 100. there was also a version that followed the ct. river on the east side of the state.
the harpoon ride gets good reviews as well.
